Studio portraits

I am sharing last images from our studio portrait practise. Again I was playing with different studio lighting set up. For all my photographs I used my Nikon camera Z6 and a prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S. I was provided with a transmitter CY-20YS.

For all the following images we had a great help from a professional model Anthony.

Image 1: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

Image 1: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

I decided to present this image in black and white as I like the contrast of tones.

Image 2: 1/100s, f/3.5, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

Image 2: 1/100s, f/3.5, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

I cropped the photograph to draw the attention to the model’s eye and the silhouette of his shoulders where the contrast of lights is quite strong.

Image 3: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

Image 3: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

I used a wide aperture to focus on model’s eye. The rest of the image is very soft. Model is looking towards the light source.

Image 4: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

Image 4: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

In this picture the light is coming from left side and there is a visible very soft split light on his face.

Image 5: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

Image 5: 1/100s, f/2.8, ISO 100, prime lens 85mm, f/1.8S

I believe I captured model’s genuine smile and look with a lovely light reflection in his eyes. There is a very soft split light in his face.

I am also sharing some other pictures in colour I took during the photo shoot practise.
